Principal’s Message

Dear parents and guardians,

Term four until now has been quite a busy term and there is still much to come. Let us track back on what has been going on at Sirius College recently and also look at the upcoming events.

PTI

As you all know we have had the Parent-teacher interviews in week 2. I hope that these have allowed parents to gain an insight about your child’s progress at school. I believe that by going to parent-teacher interviews, you have shown your interest in your child’s learning and willingness to cooperate with our school effectively for your child’s development. I would like to thank all parents that were able to make it. I also strongly encourage all parents who were not available to make a separate booking with their child’s teacher.

ART Exhibition

Sirius College has recently had the pleasure of being decorated by a kaleidoscope of colours thanks to the Art Department, who organized an art exhibition which featured the artworks of primary students from foundation to year 6. It provided students with an opportunity to have their artworks displayed to celebrate their stunning creativity. Furthermore, it was also a celebration of multiculturalism, as we were treated to the delicious foods of different cultures brought in by our parents who were also dressed in their cultural clothing. A huge thank you goes out to all families who joined us on this beautiful event and contributed to it. I would also like to thank our artists, Mrs. Fisun Ergun, Mrs. Nazan Zengin, and Mrs Eser Arman for their efforts in organizing such a valuable event in our school. Furthermore, it was a pleasure to have Hume City Council’s ex-Mayor Drew Jessop, Cr Naim Kurt and Cr Karen Sherry join us for this program.

Sand Pit

We are excited to have the sand pit added to our playground. Playing in the sand can be a great opportunity for children to have unstructured play time. Whether shaped into castles, dug, dripped, sifted, or buried, sand can take many different forms, thus offering endless opportunities for fun and learning!

End of Year Ceremony

End of year ceremony preparations are underway to put on a spectacular show on the 30th of November. This is a very exciting time for Sirius College on which our students will perform and receive awards for their achievements throughout the year. Join us as we encourage our talented students and congratulate them on their successful end of year. Please ensure you purchase your tickets via the link below as spaces are limited!
